Welcome to babymovesNW

Gentle movement support for babies and the people who love them.

The first year of life lays the foundation for how babies feel in their bodies, relate to others, and understand the world. At babymovesNW, we strive to nurture this process with intention, curiosity, and care — helping families build confidence, joy, and deep connection along the way. Whether you’re navigating tummy time, have questions about your baby and their movement habits, are looking for tips on how to bond through play, or are seeking a circle of support, we are here for you in the wonder (and wildness) of early parenting!

Rooted in the gentle, science-minded approach of Body-Mind Centering ®, babymovesNW is excited to offer play groups, one-on-one support sessions, and group classes that honor the power of early movement, touch, and relationship. In our classes and sessions, we work on:

  • supporting a baby’s sense of safety, comfort and bonding

  • handling techniques

  • noticing our rhythms in relationship to the baby

  • balancing flexion and extension

  • supporting a baby’s ability to self-regulate

  • observing preferences/supporting more movement options

  • identifying caregiver concerns/questions and addressing them

  • and lots more!

IN PERSON PLAY GROUPS (DROP-IN)

Curious about what we do at babymovesNW? In person play groups are a great way to get introduced to our work, meet other caregivers and babies, and have your questions answered in a safe, supportive environment.

Play groups are donation-based ($10 minimum) and allow you to drop-in when it suits you.

IN PERSON AND ONLINE PERSONAL SESSIONS

In person and online personal sessions allow you to get one-on-one time with Julie at a location of your choosing. This is a great option if you want to delve a little bit deeper and have focused attention on your baby and your needs one-on-one. Personal sessions range from $50-65/hour, depending on your needs. Please contact us for more info or to set up a time to meet!

IN PERSON SMALL GROUP BABY “PODS”

Baby pods are the perfect blend between personal sessions and drop-in playgroups. In pod classes, we meet at a location of your choosing and work with you and a group of 2-4 additional caretakers/friends and their infants. Single sessions are $100/hour, with discounts available for multiple bookings at once. Please contact us to start the process!

Hi! I’m Julie Coren, mother of two, movement educator, longtime student of the body, and certified Infant Developmental Movement Educator (IDME). Based in Eugene, OR, and serving Eugene and its surrounding areas, my background includes more than 20 years of yoga practice, 13 years of teaching, and a growing focus on early development, somatic practices, embryology, and how we come into being.

Along with being a long-time yoga teacher with experience in prenatal, postnatal, and infant/caregiver classes, I received my certification as IDME through the school of Body-Mind Centering® in 2025. I am also a long-time student of both Body-Mind Centering® and Authentic Movement. These practices have shifted how I parent, teach, and relate—offering new ways to understand movement as both communication and foundation.
